There we go again. It’s 2019. Everyone is happy and celebrating. What a joy to behold the new year! In the midst of the absolving euphoria of beholding the New Year, you may want to take time out to write out the resolutions for the year.
Like the custom of many is, the new year resolution is always a long list of Do(s) and Don’ts, and record have shown time and again that at least 70% of those who make new year resolutions almost abandon them before the middle of the first month of the year. Others are able to stretch till the end of the first month but this shouldn’t be because, resolutions are actually meant to be upheld.
Here is a guide to help you in getting your resolutions right this 2019. There is a popular saying that insanity is doing the same thing all the time and expecting a different result.
This means that if you are going to make the best this new year, you must do things differently. You just can’t afford to do things the same way you did last year.
The fact is that, the people you have in your life matter a great deal. Regardless of the resolutions that you make this year, if you don’t have the right people in your life who can help you uphold these resolutions, they can never be actualized.
Therefore, if there are any resolutions you desire to make this year, the topmost on the list should be changing your relationship circle. You must sit and ask yourself questions. Who were the kind of people in my life last year and what contributions did they make in my life?
You will realize that there are certain people you mustn’t have in your life this year if you really desire to make best of the year. Those that had no significant impact in your life in 2018 are not worth keeping for 2019. Keep them at arm’s length. Sever communication with them. You may have to change your phone number if necessary.
You must do all that you can to distance such people from your life in 2019. Consciously build new relationships. What are the dreams, goals and aspirations that you have for the New Year? Do you have people who are already walking the light of these? Move close to such people. Engage them. Share ideas with them. Always stay in the circle of your inspiration.
So before you start penning down those lofty resolutions for 2019, take time to eliminate some people from your life so that you can have enough room to accommodate the right kind of people and relationships that will make your 2019 a truly fulfilling year..
