Oby Ezekwesili, the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) has announced that she is stepping down from the 2019 presidential race today, January 24.
Ezekwesili further stated that the reason for her decision is to focus on making coalition to help defeat the ruling All Progressive Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party as she made it clear that the coalition is meant to facilitate the emergence of a strong viable alternative.
She added saying that the mess that has now become of the political class will not be allowed to destroy the nation.
Stating on her tweeter handle @obyezeks, Ezekwesili made it clear saying, “Following the reaction of the Nigerian citizens at home and abroad to the 2019 presidential debate held on Saturday, 19 January 2019, and after extensive consultations with leaders from various walks of life across the country over the past few days…I have decided to step down from the presidential race and focus to build a coalition for a viable alternative to the #APCPDP in the 2019 general elections.
