As the 2019 elections draw nearer, the Acting IGP, Muhammed Adamu has ordered his men to ensure that tight security measures to protect all INEC offices across the nation.
This development is aimed at ensuring that the election is a huge success devoid of the prevalent irregularities that are associated with previous elections.
Orders were given to the commissioners of police all the states, including the Federal Capital territory to ensure tight security around INEC office and facilities before, during and after the elections even as the electoral body improves on its effort to ensure a free and fare election.
Meanwhile it was reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission office located in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State was engulfed in fire as a result of the carelessness of a drunk security man. The Plateau State INEC Head of Department ,Voters Education and Publicity, Osaretin Imahiyereobo affirmed the veracity of the incident.
