The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has declared Friday, the 23rd of February a public holiday. This was disclosed by Buhari’s Special Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmed on Twitter.
According to him, Friday was declared work free day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly election.
The statement read thus: “GOOD IDEA: The Federal Government has declared Friday as Workfree Day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday.”
It could be recalled that the elections which was initially fixed for Saturday 16th February was postponed by INEC to Saturday 23rd February and the electorate are looking forward to participating peacefully in the elections this Saturday.
