The wife of the President and First lady of Nigeria, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari is at it again. Her recent statement asking Nigerians to choose between poverty and wealth in the Saturday’s presidential election has stirred up several reactions and comments from Nigerians..
The first-lady asked Nigerians to “decide whether the poor should become poorer and the rich richer or a society where the gap begins to be reduced.”while presenting empowerment packs to 1,250 women and youths from the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Thursday.
Acording to her media adviser Adebisi, Olumide Ajayi, Aisha was quoted saying that “poverty is one of the indices that encourage people to embrace vices like terrorism, kidnapping, and begging.”
In a very swift reaction, some Nigerians categorized her husband and president of the country Muhammadu Buhari and the APC as ‘Poverty” while Atiku Abubakar and the PDP represented “Wealth”.
