The 2019 budget which was signed into law earlier this week has revealed some items and figures which includes traveling budget of President Buhari, traveling budget of Vice President Osinbanjo, vehicles replacements and spares, Presidency food budget, security budgets, maintenance and installations of electrical appliances in the presidency among many others detailed which cannot be listed within this article.
The few that was revealed in the 2019 budget which has been recently signed into law presents the following facts are figures as what the President Buhari is to spend in catering for the welfare of his administration in the year 2019.
Presidential trip (around the world) – N751,296,000
Presidential trip (local trip) – N 250,021,000
As revealed in the budget, Vice President Osibanjo is to spend 217, 060 million naira on foreign trips and 83.74 million on local trips.
Maintenance and mechanical / installations in the villa will cost 3.822 billion naira.
As for Vehicles, maintenance, spares and the security details of the presidency, 576.747 million naira will be spent.
As for the construction of the presidential wing of the state house clinic, 395.834 million naira is to be spent.
According to the 2019 budget, President Buhari will spend 164.176 million naira on honorarium and sitting allowances. Another 25.652 million will be spent of refreshments.
The office of the Chief Security Officer of the President will spend 433.547 million naira on the purchase of security and operational vehicles.

The state House Medical Centre will spend 798.856 million naira on drugs and medical supplies. However, 208.350 million naira and 244.364 million naira will be taken for health supplies and medical equipments
Upgrade of Villa Ranch and construction of wildlife conservation capture would take 27.463 million naira.
However, rehabilitation of animal enclosure/procurement of Vet. Lab equipment is to spend 11.865 million naira.
According to the 2019 budget signed into law, N8,580,741 will be spent on book purchase, N26,432,346 on newspapers, N3,511,909 on magazines and periodicals and the sum total of 98.3million naira on foodstuff, catering material supplies and 25.7 million naira on refreshments and meals.

However, games and sports were not left out as 30.2million will be spent on sporting activities, 38 million naira on purchasing sporting/gaming equipment, 68 million naira on motor vehicle fuel, 45.7 million naira on plant/generator fuel cost and N18.6million naira on cooking gas).
The 2019 budget totaling the sum of 8.9 trillion naira has been signed into law by President Buhari. However, this year’s budget is N90 billion more than the N8.825 billion presented before a joint session of the National Assembly in 2018.
According to the budget, Nigeria’s major source of revenue which is oil is benchmarked at $60 per barrel with production capacity of 2.3 million barrel per day at an exchange rate of N305 to 1 dollar and inflation rate of 9.98 percent.
Meanwhile the house representative members have warned, saying anyone who spend outside the appropriation of the budget signed into law would be jailed.
