As many continue to await the official declaration of the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to contest for the Nigerian Presidency come 2013, here is a list of shocking revelations and scandals that may puncture the presidential ambition of the APC leader and make sure it is never a reality.
First on the list is the popular “billion vans” scandal that has drawn vehement criticism from every strata of the society with many prominent personalities urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to prosecute Tinubu; a move the EFCC never attempted to initiate nor execute.
Among such notable personalities is the highly revered former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, who faulted the incident and condemned it in its entirety.
In his words, “Then someone will ask, who should be number one to be prosecuted for money laundering? It is unfortunate when someone is going off track and the system is not there to check mate, what guarantees that the people will continue to respect that system?
Is it one sided policy we have in this country?”
“People don’t even know that they were loaded with cash until he confirmed it himself, do you have right to carry such cash around? Is your house a Central Bank? “These are things the pages of history will not forget, and our children will ask questions whether it’s acceptable in a civilized society like Nigeria.
Bola Tinubu must be brought to book, otherwise the campaign against corruption will be baseless and useless.”
Another very notable penalty that spoke vehemently against the act was, Reno Omokri, a former aide to immediate Past President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

According to Reno “I commend them and urge Ibrahim Magu and the EFCC to remember that they are a law enforcement body, not an @OfficialAPCNg enforcement body. I eagerly await their investigation of @AsiwajuTinubu’s election bullion vans.”
Secondly is the vast amount of properties of the APC National Leader which many believed were acquired illegally. Here is a list of some of such properties.
- Prime land of 157 hectares with 2.5 km of Atlantic beach front valued at about 10 billion naira.
- 14 hectares Parkview Ikoyi Estate foreshore land reclaimed by Lagos state government, the annex of Lagos State Guest House in Asokoro , Abuja which the state government purchased in 2006 for 450 million naira.

He is allegedly the owner of the one of the largest producing oil companies called Oando which is managed by his blood brother. Oando is said to be producing with the equity of 162 billion naira and revenue of 449 million.

All the properties, investments and share interests he own in various companies sum up to about 9.72 trillion naira ($2.7 billion).
Furthermore, Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie, a former National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and erstwhile Vice-Chancellor of the Imo State University,IMSU recently revealed another key and unexpected reason why Tinubu may never be the president of Nigeria.
In his words “I don’t think they would allow the West, even if it is Tinubu, let him bring all the money in the world, the President will go to Northeast in 2023,” he said in an interview with Sun newspaper.
