The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has voiced his take on Ruga settlement policy as well as the recent threat by the coalition of northern groups to evict all Southerners in the North if the Federal Government does not reverse the suspension of the policy in 30 days.
Following nationwide attack on the policy, the Buhari administration had been forced to suspend it and the development never seem to have been embraced by all, particularly some northern groups.
The northern youths group had issued a 30-day ultimatum to every southerner residing in the north to vacate unless RUGA is implemented.
The group had warned that failure of the Federal Government and Southern Governors to reverse the decision, there will be trouble.
Reacting, Atiku discarded the threat stating that, “there is no North or South, there is just Nigeria.”
Atiku on his Twitter page wrote: “My position on Ruga is the same as articulated by the Governors elected under the banner of my party, the PDP. My position has been well iterated by our Governors and the PDP is one.
