The former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has made know the reason why his administration could not implement the 2014 confab report that was held when he was president and called for its implementation. of the 2014 confab report which his government convened.
In his speech on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at the public presentation of a book written by Senator Femi Okurounmu in Lagos, the former president attributed the inability of his administration to implement the 1014 confab report to time constraint, with 2015 political campaign being a major preoccupation as at the time.
In his words, “I believe the constitutional conference will solve our immediate challenges. My administration was prepared to change the narrative of our constitutional democracy with the assurance that sovereignty belongs to the people.
“However, we were time constrained. The conference was conducted one year to the end of my tenure.”
